Smannell & Enham Primary School is at risk of closure. At the request of the school’s governors, the County Council are undertaking a consultation on its future.
It’s currently rated 'Inadequate' by Ofsted with a sharp fall in pupil numbers, leading to a large budget deficit. Despite support from the council, concerns remain over the quality of education. We recognise that current pupils have been let down, and their education is a priority.
Regardless of the decision, it’s essential the site and its listed building remain an educational establishment. Be that a new academy school or a much needed special (SEND) school.
