I am happy to have been re-elected as County Councillor for Andover West and will keep working to represent everyone in the division.
My committee responsibilities include chairing the Standing Advisory Council for Religious Education, serving on the Health and Wellbeing Scrutiny Committee, and representing the County Council on the Hampshire Cultural Trust.
Hampshire County Council plans to install around 17,000 community electric vehicle charging sockets, particularly in areas without off-street parking. The first installations are expected later this year.
I am setting up talks with the new Cabinet Member for Highways about the A342 Transport Corridor and the importance of working with local parish councils. I have also supported road safety meetings in Appleshaw and Thruxton, including ideas for lower speed limits. More than £554,000 has been allocated to improve 137 bus shelters across Hampshire. Bus use continues to rise, and the new on-demand service linking local villages with Andover is proving popular.
Ofsted has also praised Hampshire County Council for the quality of its support for young people leaving care.
